Returning from my hiatus in a new era...
I have had the most sensational time travelling and now am ready to lock in and reset making the most of Crowd Pleasers, a platform that I have loved trying out since October last year.
With some time to evaluate, consider this Season 2! A slightly new concept, new look and many more reviews to come.
From here on in, I will also be introducing my new certifications for the best the industry has to offer & to break it down for you here is the criteria required to achieve each badge of honour!
A CERTIFIED CROWD PLEASER
The highest honour and highly recommended for all audiences. Outstanding across all aspects, captivating, entertaining and leaves a lasting impression.
What I'd be looking for: exceptional storytelling, standout performances, flawless execution and wide appeal.
A STANDING OVATION
Just shy of perfection. A thoroughly enjoyable experience that impressed and resonated, although it may have minor flaws or a more niche appeal. Highly recommended for those familiar with the genre or who are open to trying something new.
What I'd be looking for: Creatively bold or emotionally impactful works that greatly succeed in most areas.
A ROUND OF APPLAUSE
An enjoyable experience with strong potential, executed to a reasonable standard. The work is worth engaging with and has its strength but may have limited appeal or notable opportunities for improvement. Recommended for fans of the genre of work.
What I'd be looking for: Entertaining or thought-provoking content that does well within its genre and target audience.
A TOUGH CROWD
A mixed reception for content that may struggle to connect or deliver on what it intended. It has moments of success that are worth merit but on the whole, it misses the mark. Recommended for those with a more niche interest.
What I'd be looking for: Overall under-developed work that doesn't live up to expectations despite some strong qualities.
I will also be introducing... BETWEEN THE LINES. A space where the spotlight shifts away from formal reviews. This is where we dive into the moments, musings, and movements shaping books, theatre, film, and TV today.

• Travel Diaries & Behind-the-Scenes – Dispatches from theatre trips, reading accounts, screenings, performances, and everywhere the crowd takes us.

• Spotlight Pieces – Interviews, creator highlights, or deep dives into a topic that’s caught our eye.
This is where curiosity meets critique. Where opinions have room to breathe. It’s a little less structured — and a lot more personal.
